Steps for this stage

Choose one answer. It will be saved in your final roadmap.

ตอนนี้ทริปคุณหน้าตาแบบไหน?

Is JR Pass always worth it?

No. It usually makes more sense when the trip has several long Shinkansen rides in a short period. For simpler routes, separate tickets or a regional pass may cost less.

When does a regional pass make more sense?

If your route stays mostly in Kansai, Kanto, Kyushu or another single region, a regional pass can fit better than a national JR Pass. The key is comparing it with the real value of the rides you will actually use.

What about transport inside the cities?

For city travel, Suica, Pasmo, Icoca and similar cards are often the easiest option. In Tokyo, Tokyo Metro and JR East matter a lot. In Kyoto and Osaka, buses, subway and local trains can change the daily cost a lot.

How much should you reserve for transport?

A simpler trip can often sit around ฿650 to ฿1,950 per day with transport and some city entertainment. Once Shinkansen and long moves enter the route, the number climbs quickly.
